This paper addresses the curse and undecided future of Kosovo five years after the NATO intervention of 1999. It provides information about the negotiations over Kosovo's future and impediments to this process, comments on the issue of the final status of the region, and outlines the influence of the international community. The paper supports a full UN trusteeship rather than a conditional independence.
