Publication

This paper looks at the economic and political situation in the Russian Federation in 1999. It examines how the economy has fared since the financial crash of August 1998 and looks at the implications of the parliamentary elections due in December 1999. Furthermore, the paper comments on the state of the political parties and identifies development trends. The ongoing war in Chechnya however is only briefly mentioned by the author.
