This paper discusses Taiwan's foreign policy regarding international organizations. The author examines the question why Taiwan persistently tries to gain access to the UN and other bodies and how the cost of these efforts may be impacting the US. The paper concludes that Taiwan wishes to internationalize its relationship with China as a buffer against the use of force.
