This paper discusses environmental concerns for modern farming in the UK. It considers the impact of modern farming on wildlife and the water supply, investigates the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the UK's Agri-Environmental Policy and introduces organic farming. The author explains how many people in the UK believe that support for agriculture should be reorganized so that money is directed toward the benefit of the environment, but traditionally environmental concerns have played a very small part in the CAP and there is little sign of any possible change.
