This paper looks at some of the political issues and developments in the UK, Spain and the EU that have had an impact on Gibraltar. These include Spanish sovereignty proposals, Gibraltar’s constitutional status, defense matters and efforts to combat drug trafficking. The paper also examines the history of Gibraltar and looks at ongoing border and passport disputes.
