Publication

This paper summarizes the results of a late 2016 conference that focused on the future of NATO and how it should develop its capabilities. The issues explored include 1) the possible impact on the Alliance by Brexit and the US’ new presidential administration; 2) the threats facing NATO’s southern flank, and what role Italy might play in dealing with them; 3) the next-step options for NATO-EU relations; and 4) the importance of reaffirming the Alliance’s founding values.
