This study analyzes the restructuring of the Soviet Union's military-industrial complex to generate a civilian industrial sector after the end of the Cold War. The report examines this economic transition primarily at the enterprise level and offers case studies of six enterprises. Furthermore, the authors focus on four critical aspects of enterprise restructuring which have emerged as the key factors governing the strategies of the respective enterprises: privatization, organizational restructuring, accounting and reallocation of social services.
