This paper contains a framework for companies that seek to allievate global poverty. The author presents a menu of six approaches companies can take and explains their benefits and risks. She also discusses the issues around cooperating with non-profit partners in development efforts. The paper concludes by summarizing some of the advantages companies have found in pursuing a developmental agenda such as reputational benefits, attracting informed customers, and a strengthening of corporate culture and human resource agendas.
