This paper discusses patterns of Japan's regional and global coalition participation. The author explains that Japan’s participation in international groups in the 1990s and beyond has led in the direction of greater harmony and strong support of peace and stability in the Asia Pacific region and globally. The paper explains that Japan will not be a leader, but it will be a strong supporter of regional economic and political cooperation.
