This paper discusses international boundaries and outlines how in the second half of the 20th century there has been a marked decrease in coercive territorial revisionism. The authors study the decrease during the latter part of the 20th century in comparison to previous centuries. The paper concludes that the established territorial covenant and the adapted practices must be regarded as one of the most important hallmarks of the international system in the late 20th century.
