This paper explores changes in Indo-Myanmar relations, focusing on economic development in India's northeast, the country's increased interest in trade with ASEAN, the issue of energy security and increased Chinese involvement in Myanmar. It looks at the history and development of India-Myanmar relations under different governments and examines the importance of economic interests, energy and Chinese regional dominance. The author finds that India has been too slow to develop this important relationship and is now losing out to China.
