This publication illustrates the degree to which great power rivalry in Eurasia has become a major security issue and source of US-Russian tensions. The first chapter lays out some of the fundamental macro-strategic issues of the rivalry and the US interests in Eurasia. The second chapter examines the growing intensity of the Russian threat perceptions.
