This paper discusses Prussian military theorist Carl von Clausewitz’s concept of military center of gravity (CoG). The author details how the main aim of CoG is to achieve the collapse of the enemy. The paper outlines how CoG was introduced by von Clausewitz and how since then the concept has become a fundamental part doctrinal literature in both the US and Europe.
