This paper discusses the impact of the revolution in military affairs (RMA) beyond conventional conflicts. The authors acknowledge how the process of RMA from the first Gulf War holds great promise for conventional, combined-arms warfare, but conclude that its potential value in any conflict short of all-out war, whether counterterrorism, insurgency or violence associated with narcotrafficking, is not so clear cut.
