This paper addresses US-Mexican relations in the context of the Zapatista crisis in Mexico. The author anaylzes the impact of the crisis and focuses on the associated prospects for democratization, socio-economic development, political stability. The paper also looks at the general national security implications for the US and Mexico as a result of the conflict.
