This paper studies jihadi groups from the framework of a renewed 'Great Game' for influence in Central Asia involving an array of states. The author analyzes if such a competition would lead to increased violence if outside states, such as US, were drawn in. The paper states that a well-designed US strategy might help avoid crises.
