This monograph focuses on strategic dimensions of the Colombian problems with drug criminals, guerrillas and paramilitary groups. The authors argue that Colombia’s future deeply affects regional security and US interests and that the country’s afflictions are spilling over its borders, threatening Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Brazil, Peru, Mexico and the Caribbean. Further, they discuss whether the narcotics issue can be separated from counterinsurgency.
