This paper provides an examination of the reciprocal relations between China and the US over the past century and a half. It examines the psychological dimension of US-Chinese state-to-state relations. It also analyzes the gap from cultural, historical and ideological aspects and correlates it to the role perceptions and misperceptions played out in the political and military aspects of US-China relations.
