This paper provides an overview and assessment of the peace promotion and conflict resolution initiatives supported by government donors and international organizations in Central Asia. The author looks at the ongoing and planned projects and regional programs that specifically target peace promotion, conflict resolution and conflict reduction. The paper explains how the US, Switzerland, Canada, and to a lesser extent the UK, have become those foreign donors who have developed the most concrete conflict prevention programs in Central Asia.
