This paper explores key lessons for donor engagement to support pro-poor growth, commenting on the agricultural and the private sector and the labor market. Furthermore, it points to the importance of infrastructure and identifies key challenges for donors. The authors stress that donors must understand the political economy of pro-poor policy processes and provide support that is long-term, predictable, flexible and responsive to country situations.
