This briefing examines the major developments which took place in December 2007 in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. According to the author, they all have consequences for the future of the Bush administration's war on terror. Furthermore, he argues, all were relevant to the developing contest in the US over the nominations for the 2008 presidential election.
