This paper takes the measure of EU-Turkey relations since the beginning of the migration crisis in September 2015. Yes, the “surprisingly effective” attempts to contain the crisis did intensify cooperation between the two parties, but it didn’t stop Turkish-EU relations from recently (and significantly) deteriorating, primarily because of internal tensions in both camps.
