The fourth Ideas Lab, which occurred in February 2017, focused on the complex problems currently bedeviling Europe. This report both reviews and synopsizes the insights that were gleaned on a variety of subjects, including 1) the migration flows originating from the Mediterranean; 2) the future prospects of China’s Silk Road project; 3) the question of post-2020 EU budget reforms; 4) the present leadership dimensions of climate change; 5) European (dis)integration in a populist era; 6) current trade practices and the single market, and much more.
