This article looks at the ongoing transitions from conflict to peace in Liberia and Sierra Leone. More specifically, it does so to provide case studies on how the United Nations (UN) can help ensure successful transitions, not only from peacekeeping to peacebuilding but also from conflict to building a sustainable peace.
