This paper examines the issue of discounting in environmental cost-benefit analysis. It reviews the debate surrounding Sir Nicholas Stern's "Review on the Economics of Climate Change" from 2006 and the controversy over the discount rate that was employed. The author criticizes the model herself and discusses alternatives in the analysis of the economic understanding of global warming.
