This report was produced by a joint working group of the American Physical Society (APS) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to inform the US Congress and government institutions on the state of the art of nuclear forensics. It includes an assessment of nuclear forensics' potential for preventing unattributed nuclear attacks and also identifies the policies and resources to fulfill that potential.
