This paper analyzes the strategic relations between Thailand and the People's Republic of China between 1975 and 2007. The author offers a historical analysis, explaining how the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between the two sides came about in 1975, and the development of bilateral ties since then. The paper concludes that the close cooperation between China and Thailand has been influenced by strategic considerations and interests of both countries.
