This paper discusses the prospects of resolving the Transnistrian conflict. It first considers the fiasco of the Russian settlement plan and then reviews international developments around the Transnistrian problem. The author concludes that a realistic chance for a permanent resolution to the frozen conflict is emerging for the first time since 2003.
