This paper identifies and analyzes the fives pillars of European security. The author systematizes the complex interdependence of European security and further rationalizes and simplifies the general understanding of the concept. The paper emphasizes the importance of historical characteristics, general continuity, security and defense capability developments, trans-Atlantic relations and regional integration rules as the most important elements in European security.
