This publication discusses the efforts of NATO with regard to global energy security. The authors examine how security policy is linked with energy security, how security organizations should define energy security, and how security organizations, including NATO, should contribute to enhancing energy security. The publication emphasizes how energy security can mean different things to different stakeholders and explains how consumers, producers, transit countries, industry, the military, governments, scientists, and economists can have very opposing views on the subject.
