This paper examines relations between Russia and China in the context of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It analyzes why the relationship between the two countries has changed and to what degree this change has taken place. The author concludes that the SCO was not formed to strengthen ties and develop Chinese and Russian influence in the region, rather it was intended as an anti-US, anti-NATO organization.
