This report argues that a new US energy security strategy is needed which will cut US dependence on oil and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The authors give an overview of the nature of the energy challenge, the main elements of a strategy for energy security, and then offer a plan of action for how to actually execute that strategy. The report outlines domestic policy measures as well as internationally oriented strategies to address the monopoly leverage from producing nations, market distortions, global climate change and rising global demand.
