This report analyzes China's policy regarding investment and development in Africa. The author assesses the ways in which Chinese policy differs to western policy to Africa and the reasons for this disparity. The western suspicion of Chinese "imperialism" is considered as are the pragmatic reasons for China adopting a different approach to Africa.
