This paper describes the scope and activities of the Energy Charter, the intergovernmental organization to promote energy and economic security at an international level. It focuses on the contribution being made by the Charter to strengthen energy security through the creation of new rules under international law on energy transit flow. The author further calls on the US to closely collaborate with the organization to achieve common goals.
