This paper explores the shifting Anglo-American relationship regarding the Iranian oil nationalization crisis of the 1950s. It examines the US policy on the oil crisis throughout three distinct phases: the US benevolent period, the Anglo-American partnership and the US domination period. The author concludes that US interests dominated the resolution of the Iranian oil crisis and replaced the British influence in Iran and elsewhere.
