This paper describes how unprecedented levels of immigration to the UK have focused interest on trying to assess the financial impact. It explains how numerous reports have been published by a range of organizations and that the UK government has set up the Migration Impacts Forum to collect and discuss evidence on the effects that immigration may have on communities and public services throughout the UK. The report states that the wider public perception of immigration is just as important as the actual economic impact.
