The Global Militarization Index (GMI) highlights the relative weight and importance of a country’s military apparatus in relation to its society as a whole. Of the 152 countries analyzed in 2016, the most militarized ones are, in order, Israel, Singapore, Armenia, Jordan Russia, South Korea, Cyprus, Greece, Azerbaijan and Brunei.
