The feature articles of this edition of the CTC Sentinel focus on 1) the potential consequences for Iranian-backed militias in Iraq resulting from the killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani; and 2) what key lessons we can learn from the so-called Islamic State’s own works and words. The edition also includes two analyses as well as an interview with Rob Saale, who between 2017 and 2019 was the director of the US Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell, an interagency group housed at the FBI.
