This publication contends that pandemics have a tendency to linger for a substantial time, with a series of successive waves and with certain parts of populations remaining at risk until effective preventative measures or treatments are available. With this in mind, the text’s author looks ahead to what the world may look like following the COVID-19 pandemic and the key pressures that will shape it, including with regards to the role of the US, China, the UK, Russia and Iran, as well as regions including the Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.
