This edition of the CAD features three articles on urban development and transformation in the South Caucasus region. In the first piece, Sarhat Petrosyan focuses on the changes that have occurred in Yerevan’s urban landscape since Armenia’s independence, with a particular emphasis on the roles played by urban policies and planning. Anar Valiyev then describes the attempts to transform Baku, Azerbaijan from a post-Soviet industrial city to a magnetic regional center. Finally, Joseph Salukvadze reviews the current developments in the housing sectors of Yerevan and Tbilisi, Georgia.
