This paper speculates on how Yemen’s health system might be rebuilt once the fighting subsides in the country. With the help of the Yemeni diaspora, the rehabilitation should seemingly concentrate on four areas – 1) governance and financing; 2) personnel; 3) health services, medicines and medical technologies; and 4) information and research. The paper additionally analyzes the ongoing conflict’s impact on the Yemeni health system through the eyes of public health specialists and service providers, and presents a number of future scenarios for the country and what impact they might have on its health sector.
