This paper addresses the de-facto absence of a common European weapons acquisition strategy to coincide with the implementation of the European Security and Defense Policy (ESDP). The author explains that the lack of such a coordinated program in Europe is primarily based on the political unpopularity of armaments spending with the European electorate as well as the lack of official consensus within the EU on the true scope and range of ESDP.
