This paper contends that the EU has failed to follow up on the June/July 2015 agreement it brokered between Macedonia’s feuding political actors. As a result, the country’s ruling party has failed to carry out electoral reforms and its current president has blocked next-step investigations of corrupt party members. The paper closes by stressing what future EU mediated agreements should look like.
