This paper summarizes the financial options that are available to help develop renewable energy further. After providing a brief overview of contemporary energy markets, the text’s authors then focus on 1) the role of debt and equity financing as sources of capital investment in future renewables, and 2) the policy measures that could facilitate new financing processes.
