This paper looks at the present status of the European Union and provides an agenda for integration-minded politicians, policymakers and others to follow in the future. More specifically, the text’s authors grapple with six questions – i.e., queries that focus on how you 1) construct a “realistic and fruitful” political narrative for the Union; 2) turn the politicization of debates into an opportunity rather than a threat, particularly in the case of European integration; 3) balance unity and diversity when pursuing differentiated integration; 4) consolidate the Eurozone, both economically and institutionally; 5) change the EU’s guiding economic paradigm; and 6) formulate a foreign policy that matches Europe’s position in the world.
