This report examines the often underappreciated influence “positive peace” has in creating environments that maximize human potential. After taking into account IEP’s Positive Peace Index rankings and the regional and global trends identified in the Global Peace Index, the report goes on to identify the necessary pillars of positive peace, which include 1) a well-functioning government; 2) a sound business environment; 3) an equitable distribution of resources; 4) the free flow of information; and 5) low levels of corruption.
