The articles in this issue focus on 1) characteristics of the Derna Mujahideen Shura Council (DMSC), and the group’s links to other Libyan Islamists and to al-Qaeda; 2) how China’s Uyghur terrorist group can be categorized as a hybrid model of modern terrorist group in which religious discourse is used to underline the push for a separatist agenda; 3) how the Basque terrorist group Euskadi ta Askatasuna’s (ETA) use of strategic communication management techniques, including assassinations and kidnappings, was successful in generating fear and led to political change in Spain, and 4) how irregular migrant movements have added to the crime-terror nexus in Europe and Southeast Asia. The edition also includes several book reviews, a research note, and more.
