This paper takes a two-pronged approach at investigating small arms issues in Macedonia, focusing on public perceptions of security and mechanisms of gun management following the 2001 conflict. The assessment is subdivided into five areas: small arms availability, distribution, circulation, impact and control. The authors argue small arms control is minimal and not appropriately enforced in spite of post conflict reconstruction.
