The publication evaluates best practices associated with collecting and disposing of small and light weapons (SALW) in post-conflict societies. It argues that financial constraints and material resources undermine government efforts to destroy weapons and curb small arms proliferation. The report concludes that weapons collections programs are only likely to succeed when they enjoy support from a range of political and societal actors backed by global mechanisms.
