Mar 2003

The publication discusses issues that relate to small arms in 20 nations located in the southern Pacific. The report takes a three-pronged approach, examining the status of existing firearm legislation, the scope of legal stockpiles and illicit markets, and the socio-economic impact of armed conflict within Pacific communities. The report concludes that rampant possession of small arms in the southern Pacific fuels humanitarian crisis and human insecurity.
